It's cookie time! My daughter has been in a girl scout troop since second grade, she missed being a cute little daisy and jumped right into brownies with other girls at her school.
Last night was the cookie kick off. It's an event where girls from all over the area gather to learn about the cookies, play games, practice selling techniques and in general get stoked about selling thin mints, thanks a lots and shortbreads. Her troop leader is also a Zumba teacher http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zumba and the Zumba rep for our girl scout district. She organized three other instructors and herself as the opening act on stage at the Cookie Kick Off last night, then recruited her girls to be the on stage class. They spent time in her driveway last week learning one of the basic dances.
Those girls rocked the stage last night. They weren't perfect, but they had fun, kept up and did their best. I was the photographer mom, and so today we stepped out to the local Walgreen's to put the photos from my card to a disc for the troop leader. We got 1 mile underfoot and were 1 step closer 2 sharing photos from a cool event.
